ShedSafe Accreditation for shed sellers

ShedSafe is a two tiered accreditation program – accrediting both the manufacturer responsible for the engineering design of a shed, and the shed seller responsible for recommending a specification that has considered  their customers building use and site location.

ShedSafe accreditation is your assurance to consumers that the:

  • manufacturer engineering and documentation has successfully completed an engineering review by an independent third party. This means that the engineering principles, plans and structural calculations used by the Shed Manufacturer have been subject to a design and documentation review undertaken by an independent third party structural engineer and that these have met the ShedSafe criteria.
  • the design of the sheds is to best practice design compliance. The Shed Manufacturer has signed and
submitted documentation confirming that there design principles are in accordance with the Australian Steel Institute (ASI) Design Guide Portal Frame Sheds and Garages (2014).
  • specification for a shed design is suitable for the intended location and use. This means that the Shed Seller has undertaken training and will recommend a shed with a specification intended  for your specific site and building use, based upon the information provided or obtained. The recommended specification should be confirmed by the certifying engineer or building surveyor or qualified builder.
